About the Role
We’re looking for a driven, entrepreneurial Director of Government Sales & BD to lead our growth in the government sector for our startup client. You’ll build relationships with DoD, Intel, and commercial partners, drive capture efforts, and shape our B2B2G strategy. This is a hands-on role focused on execution—ideal for someone who thrives in ambiguity, understands early-stage challenges, and is passionate about solving hard problems.
Key Responsibilities
- Capture & Proposal Management: Lead end-to-end capture efforts, from opportunity identification to RFP response.
- Strategic Relationships: Build and maintain relationships with government stakeholders (DoD, Intel, Civil) and commercial primes.
- B2B2G Strategy: Execute go-to-market strategies with commercial partners to access government opportunities.
- Product Feedback: Provide insights to product teams on government user needs and pain points.
- Compliance & Risk: Ensure proposals meet all regulatory requirements and manage associated risks.
- Performance Tracking: Report on pipeline, win rates, and KPIs; own a $5M annual quota tied to clear objectives.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: 8–10+ years in government BD/capture; startup or small business experience strongly preferred.
- Track Record: Proven success securing government contracts and navigating complex proposal processes.
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of DoD and Intel procurement; civil space can be learned.
- Skills: Excellent communicator, strategic thinker, persistent problem-solver.
- Tools: Familiar with CRM, proposal tools, and government procurement platforms.
- Certifications: PMP, APMP a plus.
