Business Systems Analyst

Piper Companies is seeking a Business Systems Analyst to join a leading organization in the agricultural biotechnology industry. The Business Systems Analyst will serve as a key liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, helping to identify, design, and implement technology solutions that drive operational efficiency and business growth. This role is ideal for a technically-minded professional with a background in software engineering, data engineering, or application development who enjoys partnering with leaders across multiple business functions.

Responsibilities of the Business Systems Analyst:

• Partner with Finance, Supply Chain, HR, and other business units to gather, document, and analyze business requirements.

• Support technology initiatives involving Python development, AWS cloud services, React applications, system integrations, and data platforms.

• Facilitate meetings and workshops with business leaders and stakeholders to understand challenges, objectives, and process improvement opportunities.

• Translate business requirements into technical specifications, user stories, and actionable development plans.

• Collaborate with software engineers, data engineers, architects, and third-party vendors to implement solutions.

• Analyze business processes and recommend improvements through automation, reporting, and technology enhancements.

• Participate in solution design, testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), deployment, and post-implementation support activities.

• Create and maintain business process documentation, workflows, requirements documents, and project artifacts.

• Communicate project status, risks, and recommendations to leadership and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications of the Business Systems Analyst:

• 4+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Technical Business Analyst, or similar role.

• Previous hands-on experience in Software Engineering, Data Engineering, Application Development, or another technical discipline.

• Strong understanding of Python, AWS cloud technologies, and modern web applications utilizing React.

• Experience gathering requirements and partnering directly with business leaders and executive stakeholders.

• Ability to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical teams, translating complex business needs into technical solutions.

• Experience working within Agile environments and familiarity with Jira and the software development lifecycle.

• Strong analytical, communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred.

Compensation for the Business Systems Analyst includes:

• Salary range: $120,000 - $150,000 depending on experience

• Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and PTO

• Hybrid work schedule in Durham, NC
