Vision Systems Engineer

Piper Companies is seeking a Vision Systems Engineer to join a cutting-edge automation and manufacturing technology organization for a permanent onsite position in Raleigh, NC. The Vision Systems Engineer will play a key role in advancing machine vision technology by analyzing system performance, developing software solutions, and driving improvements to imaging and inspection platforms used in fast-paced production environments.

Responsibilities of the Vision Systems Engineer include:

· Assess and optimize existing vision systems, identifying opportunities to improve accuracy, efficiency, and overall system performance.

· Design, develop, and maintain Python-based applications that interact with imaging hardware and support automated inspection processes.

· Gather, organize, and evaluate operational data to uncover trends and deliver recommendations for future enhancements.

· Troubleshoot machine vision hardware, cameras, optics, and network connectivity issues in both production and field environments.

· Partner with engineering, operations, and technical teams to support innovation initiatives, system deployments, and continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications for the Vision Systems Engineer include:

· 5+ years of experience working with machine vision systems, computer vision applications, or industrial imaging technologies.

· Strong Python programming skills with the ability to independently develop and modify software solutions.

· Experience utilizing OpenCV or similar image processing and computer vision frameworks.

· Hands-on knowledge of machine vision cameras, lens configuration, image acquisition, and hardware troubleshooting.

· Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple teams and translate data into actionable business insights.

Compensation for the Vision Systems Engineer:

· Salary Range: $115,000 - $140,000
