Senior Linux Systems Engineer

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Linux Systems Engineer for a client in the technology industry located in the United States. The Senior Linux Systems Engineer position is fully remote. The Senior Linux Systems Engineer role is ideal for an experienced infrastructure engineer with a strong background in Linux administration, data center technologies, and cloud enablement, helping build and maintain the tooling that allows engineering teams to provision and scale infrastructure in AWS.

Responsibilities of the Senior Linux Systems Engineer include:

• Design, develop, and support infrastructure tooling that enables the provisioning and management of AWS-based environments.

• Administer and optimize large-scale Linux systems across both data center and cloud environments.

• Manage and enhance virtualized infrastructure utilizing VMware technologies while supporting modernization initiatives.

• Collaborate with platform and cloud engineering teams to automate infrastructure deployment and operational processes.

• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues spanning Linux servers, storage platforms, networking, and cloud resources.

Requirements of the Senior Linux Systems Engineer include:

• 7+ years of experience supporting enterprise Linux environments in systems engineering or infrastructure-focused roles.

• Strong hands-on experience with Linux administration, automation, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.

• Experience working with VMware virtualization technologies and enterprise storage solutions such as NetApp.

• Exposure to Kubernetes and containerized environments, including deployment and operational support.

• Experience developing or maintaining infrastructure automation and cloud provisioning solutions within AWS environments.

Compensation for the Senior Linux Systems Engineer include:

• $125,000 - $155,000 annually

• Full Comprehensive Benefits: Health, Vision, Dental, PTO, Paid Holiday and Sick Leave if Required by Law.
