Linux Systems Engineer

Piper Companies is seeking a Linux Systems Engineer to join a leading cloud networking and infrastructure technology organization for a fully remote long-term contract opportunity. The Linux Systems Engineer will support large-scale data center environments and cloud infrastructure, helping maintain the systems and platforms that power mission-critical services used by customers worldwide.

Responsibilities of the Linux Systems Engineer include:

· Administer and support Linux-based infrastructure across enterprise and cloud environments.

· Manage virtualization, storage, and server technologies including VMware, NetApp, and bare-metal systems.

· Automate provisioning and configuration tasks to improve operational efficiency.

· Troubleshoot complex performance, availability, and infrastructure-related issues.

· Collaborate with engineering teams to enhance reliability, security, and scalability across platforms.

Qualifications for the Linux Systems Engineer include:

· 7+ years of Linux systems administration or infrastructure engineering experience.

· Strong experience with Linux operating systems, preferably Ubuntu or similar distributions.

· Hands-on experience with VMware virtualization and NetApp storage technologies.

· Background supporting data center infrastructure and physical server environments.

· Exposure to AWS cloud infrastructure and Kubernetes environments.

· Scripting experience with Bash, Python, or similar automation tools preferred.

Compensation for the Linux Systems Engineer:

Salary Range: $125,000-$155,000/year (USD)
